The Final Year That Determines Everything

Year 13 Geography Tuition for Students Who Want an A or A*and a Place at Their First Choice University.

Year 13 is different.

The content is harder. The essays are more demanding. The evaluation is more sophisticated. The exams determine university offers.

Most students don't need more revision.

They need expert teaching that develops the geographical thinking, essay writing and exam technique required to achieve the very highest grades.

At Olympus Geography, Year 13 students attend two live lessons every week.

One dedicated to Human Geography. One dedicated to Physical Geography.

So every topic stays fresh, every skill is continually developed and nothing is left until Easter.

A Quiet Standard of Excellence

Why Parents Choose Olympus Geography

Most Year 13 students work incredibly hard.

But effort alone does not produce top grades.

The students who consistently achieve A and A* grades are able to:

  • Think like geographers
  • Evaluate evidence
  • Build sophisticated arguments
  • Use geographical terminology naturally
  • Apply case studies flexibly
  • Write essays that examiners reward

These are rarely taught properly in school.

That's where we come in.

More Than Tuition

We Help Students Become Better Geographers

Every lesson develops:

  • Critical thinking
  • Independent judgement
  • Synoptic thinking
  • Evidence selection
  • Evaluation
  • Academic writing

These are exactly the skills rewarded by examiners and valued by leading universities.

The Olympus Approach

What Makes Olympus Different?

Most tuition focuses on helping students understand content.

Content is only one part of an A Level Geography paper.

We focus equally on:

  • How to analyse.
  • How to evaluate.
  • How to structure essays.
  • How to interpret figures.
  • How to think synoptically.
  • How to write like an A* student.

This is why our students consistently outperform expectations.

Meet Your Tutors

Taught By A Cambridge Geographer And A Practising A Level Examiner

Every lesson is delivered by specialists who have marked real A Level papers and guided hundreds of students to top grades and competitive university places.

Meet The Founder

Freya Ruparel Cambridge Geography

Freya read Geography at the University of Cambridge and founded Olympus Geography to give ambitious A Level students the calibre of teaching she experienced as an undergraduate. Over the past decade she has worked one-to-one with hundreds of GCSE and A Level students, guiding them into Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, UCL and Russell Group Geography courses.

Her students consistently make the kind of jumps most tutors don't attempt — Kariesh moved from strong GCSE results to A*A*A and a Cambridge Geography offer; Leah went from a C to an A at A Level; Anson credits her feedback with securing an A in his EPQ after three years of mentoring. Parents describe her as "highly educated and extremely knowledgeable," bringing "real depth to each session" with a calm, challenging style that builds genuine confidence.

Freya specialises in essay technique, synoptic thinking and university-level academic strategy — teaching students to think like geographers, not just recite content.

Meet The Examiner

Hannah A Level Examiner

Hannah is a practising A Level Geography examiner with over 13 years of classroom and tutoring experience. She marks real A Level papers each summer, which means every lesson, essay plan and mark scheme walkthrough is grounded in exactly what earns marks in the exam hall — not guesswork, and not generic advice.

She is known for turnarounds most families think aren't possible in the time they have left. Devina's son moved from a projected Grade D to a B — eight marks off an A — in just five months. Juliette rebuilt her confidence and case study bank ahead of her A Level exams. Zarin moved from a Grade 1 to a Grade 7 at GCSE. Parents repeatedly describe her lessons as "clear, simple and engaging," with a plan tailored around the student from the very first session.

Hannah leads exam technique, 20-mark essay structure and NEA strategy at Olympus — the areas where Year 13 grades are actually won and lost.

In Their Own Words

Year 13 Results From Real Families

Grade jumps, university offers and confidence rebuilt in the final year — every student below was taught by Freya or Hannah directly.

D → B in 5 months

Hannah literally turned my son around in the space of 5 months and where he thought he was going to get a Grade D, my son ended up getting a B. He was 8 marks away from an A.

E → B at A Level

Freya helped my son go from a grade E to a grade B in his final A-Level exam. She supported him with lessons, syllabus advice, exam technique and revision practice. Nearer to the exam, she focused on exam technique which made all the difference.

Two-grade jump built on exam technique, not more content.

A*A*A · Cambridge Geography offer

After starting tutoring with Freya I was thinking about questions in a different way and learning how to filter and memorise the important information. I achieved A*A*A at A-Level and earned a place at the University of Cambridge for Geography. I definitely would not have been able to achieve this without Freya's help.

Confidence + case study bank

Hannah really helped me grow my confidence for my Geography A Level by supporting me with exam technique and practice questions. She also had lots of valuable and in depth information that she shared with me for my case studies.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Which exam boards do you teach?

Lessons are taught by a practising A Level examiner and focused entirely on your child's specific exam board — AQA, Edexcel, CIE, OCR A/B, Eduqas, WJEC and Pearson International Edexcel. Every resource, essay plan and assessment is written to that specification, not a generic overview.

Why are there two lessons every week?

Year 13 moves quickly and students are expected to retain knowledge from both Year 12 and Year 13 simultaneously. Separate Human and Physical Geography lessons allow greater depth, more practice and continuous retrieval across the full specification.

What if I miss a lesson?

Every lesson is recorded so students can catch up at any time.

How many students are in each class?

Groups are deliberately kept small to encourage discussion, questions and individual feedback.

Can students ask questions outside lessons?

Yes. Students receive ongoing support and guidance throughout the programme.

Final Call To Action

Give Your Child Every Possible Advantage Before Their Final Exams

The difference between an A and an A* is rarely intelligence.

It's usually the quality of teaching, feedback and preparation.

With two specialist lessons every week, regular examiner feedback and structured support throughout the year, students build the confidence and skills needed to perform at their very best.

We'll discuss your child's current performance, university goals and whether Olympus Geography is the right fit.
